Xtream Codes on iPhone: how to log in and watch with EPG, movies and series
Xtream Codes is the most common API used by IPTV panels. Instead of a long M3U link you get three things: a server address, a username and a password. Zaptun uses them to load live channels, the EPG, movies and series in one go.
Server URL format
Enter the server exactly as your provider gives it, including the scheme and port, e.g. http://example.com:8080. Do not add /player_api.php or /get.php — Zaptun handles the API paths for you.
Adding the account in Zaptun
- Settings → Playlists → Add Playlist → Xtream Codes
- Fill in server, username and password, then Save
- Zaptun loads live categories, streams, VOD and series, plus the EPG from the panel
Movies and series
The Movies and Series tabs show your VOD libraries with posters, ratings and descriptions. Open a series to pick a season and episode; Zaptun remembers where you stopped and queues the next episode automatically.
VOD files are often MKV or MP4 with AC3 audio, which Apple's player cannot handle. Zaptun automatically uses its VLC engine for VOD so audio just works.
Catch-up
If your panel enables timeshift for a channel, past programs in the guide become tappable. Zaptun builds the catch-up URL for you and plays the recording.
Account information
Open the playlist in Settings to see your account status, expiry date and the number of active versus allowed connections — handy when a stream refuses to start because another device is already playing.
Troubleshooting Xtream logins
- "Authentication failed": double-check username and password; they are case-sensitive.
- Categories load but nothing plays: the panel may have hit the connection limit or your IP may be blocked. Try mobile data.
- Only a few hours of EPG: some panels publish short EPG windows; ask your provider for an XMLTV URL and add it as the EPG source.
